1. Very interesting.

   I have seen similar opinion not only in Japan but also on Fark.com, of all places. Often there people are free to whale on about how Japan has to face the past of WW2 (which it does, most certainly) but it was interesting to see how on this paricular series of protests, on this American website, the opinion was very much “well, yes, but… pot kettle black, I think???” from pretty much all comers.

   There’s been some interesting threads about Germany of late, too, and I got to correspond with someone living there about the similar issues, and it was interesting to me just how much of the psychology is similar.
